LAP (L'Art Antique des Lapidaires), a technique which was developed in Belgium, creating a synthetic, crystalline finish, similar to enamel but more durable. It was used by various aritists to exploit new creative possibilities, decorative panels in particular. Foujita produced a number of these, depicting animals and children, at the Anthony Factory before the war. For further details of the technique, see: Les Echos d'Art, Jan. 1929, p.33 et seq.
