Lot Essay

The Barbour Cup was named after Milne Barbour, a famous MFH of the Westmeath Hunt during the 1920's. Another painting entitled 'The Meath Hunt Point-to-Point' was exhibited by the artist in London in the Olympic Games 'Sporting Art' competition in 1948 and won her third prize, a bronze medal and a diploma.
