Lot Essay

Woodhouse began to draw from nature at an early age and later became a student at the Lancaster School of Art. He exhibited regularly at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and the Lancashire Art Exhibition, Preston from 1927. After his death a Memorial exhibition of 89 of his paintings was held at Preston in 1939.
