A LOUIS XV ORMOLU, MENNECY PORCELAIN AND CHINESE LACQUER ENCRIER
The waved triangular pierced base cast with foliage and acanthus C-scrolls and with a later lacquer panel decorated with bamboo and foliage, issuing three foliate-wrapped porcelain wells moulded with flowerheads, each enclosing a channelled C-scroll framed ormolu well with pierced lid and bud finial, the socles to the two flanking wells possibly replaced, the porcelain circa 1740 and with some losses

Lot Essay

Related Mennecy porcelain and Chinese lacquer encriers were sold anonymously in these Rooms, 17 June 1987, lot 2, and from the collection of Monsieur et Madame H. Forster, at Sotheby's Monaco, 9 December 1984, lot 1044, and a further encrier was sold anonymously in these Rooms, 7 July 1961, lot 93.
