This chimney-piece, modelled with cherub herms is derived from the model by Louis-Simon Boizot and Pierre Gouthière, for the Salon of Madame du Barry at Fontainbleau in 1774, and now at Versailles (see H. Ottomeyer & P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1986, p. 568, p 568).
