Of semi-circular form, flanked to each side by scrolled lion monopodiae, the sectional back carved in high relief with bacchanalian scenes of cavorting putti, above four seat sections, with a frieze below carved with masks and ribbon-tied foliate festoons, signed on the upper right panel Prof. Lapini, 1888, the left hand upper panel repaired, the left hand terminal repaired

Lot Essay

Cesare Lapini worked in Florence and Exhibited in Rome in 1888, where it may be likely that this bench was purchased, as it carries the same date on its inscription.
