Engraved title, heightened in gold, arms of Phillip III on verso, portrait of Ortelius, 5 engraved illustrations, woodcut initials and headpieces, 127 double-page maps only, COLOURED THROUGHOUT IN A CONTEMPORARY HAND, many cartouches and decorations heightened in white, 4 maps with margins folded in, the maps numbered 1-128, with the maps of Bologna and Vicenza on one sheet numbered 82/83. (Lacking the parergon, nomenclator and all after the map of Morocco, folding maps and a few others close shaved to margins, a few small holes and slight wear to corners of sheets and at centrefolds, some light offsetting and discolouration, first few quires affected by damp with margins strengthened or restored, a section of the table of maps supplied in manuscript.) Late ninteenth century vellum, gilt, covers tooled in gilt, flat spine similarly tooled with red morocco title labels, red edges, modern slipcase.
