ROBERTS, David (1796-1864). Egypt & Nubia... With historical descriptions by William Brockedon. London: F.G. Moon, 1846-1849.

20 original parts in 10, 2° (624 x 448mm). Three tinted lithographic titles and 121 plates (61 full-page, 60 half-page) by Louis Haghe after Roberts, lithographic map. (First and last leaves spotted in each part, some light spotting or soiling to most margins, a few margins a trifle tattered). Original cloth-backed wrappers (disbound, most backstrips defective, some wrappers creased).

A good copy in its original state. It was intended that the parts should be bound into three volumes. The title to volume II is here numbered volume V (this is more usually scratched out) - an indication of Robert's original intention to issue Egypt and Nubia as a continuation of the three volume Holy Land. Abbey Travel 272; Tooley 402. (10)
