A Stralsund baluster vase and domed cover
Circa 1760
Painted in manganese with an allegorical figure of a lady holding an infant and a cross, an anchor at her feet within an applied green, yellow, manganese and blue garland supported by two scantily clad putti, the reverse with applied flowering branches, the cover applied with flowers and surmounted by a putto holding a cornucopiae (large rim chip at front, chip to rim, foot riveted and overpainted, foliage extensively chipped and with some old repair, right arm of one putto repaired at shoulder, the cover with restoration to one side of putto's head and cornucopiae, some chips to rim and flowers)
