Album containing forty-five albumen prints, four 5¾ x 3¾ in. to 6 x 7¾ in., the remainder approx. 8½ x 11 in. or the reverse, occasional numbers in the negatives and eight with photographer's blindstamp W.L.H. Skeen & Co. on recto, the majority titled in ink/pencil on mounts, inscribed in ink Paynes Hill House Steeple Aston. Photographs of Ceylon, brought back by Rev. Dr. Wood from his visit in 1888 to Government House, Colombo on front blank, with a printed leaflet titled Sketches from Ceylon. - A Singhalese Theatre by William Wood D.D. loosely inserted, half blue calf, ruled in gilt, oblong 4to.

Containing portrait studies of Buddhist monks, Kandyan chiefs, workers including a boy picking fruit from a Jackfruit tree, mat- makers, snake-charmers, group portraits of native children, 'Dagoba Headmen', and 'Devil Dancers'; views of bamboo trees, a street scene in Colombo and an image of buffalo bathing.
