This tomb was built for Ghiyas Beg who received the title I'timad-ud-Daulah (Pillar of Government) while Chief Minister to Emperor Jahangir. He died in 1622 and the building was completed in 1628. It is considered, alongside the Taj, as one of the most perfect Mughal tombs and was one of the first Mughal buildings to be faced with white inlaid marble.
