A GEORGE III GREEN-PAINTED, EBONISED, POLYCHROME-DECORATED AND JEWELLED-PASTE CHIMNEYPIECE
The inverted breakfront moulded cornice carved with leaf-scrolls and dentils alternating with Thyrsus finials, the panelled frieze with central foliate-edged tablet inlaid with an oil lamp flanked by scrolled jewelled arabesques and palmette and husk-sprays, framed by oval plaques, the volute jambs with foliate decoration issuing jewelled sprays with canopies, urns and platforms, and enclosing a beaded ribbon-and-reel foliate slip on a moulded plinth, restorations and minor areas of re-touching
