The present four views relate to four of the six loose prints after drawings 'From Nature by Lieut. F[rederick] R[ice] Stack' in Mrs Ward's Souvenir of Emperor Napoleon. The dates on the Servaas watercolours (1858 and 1861) suggest that Kennedy's publication date for the Stack prints of 1859 (R.F. Kennedy, Catalogue of Prints in the Africana Museum etc., Johannesburg, 1976, II, S 391-96) may be incorrect.
