The head differs slightly from the well-known bust of Leighton which Brock executed c.1892 and deposited with the Royal Academy as his diploma work. Another cast is at Leighton House. Leighton modelled his Athlete struggling with a Python in Brock's studio, and Brock was responsible for the magnificent monument to Leighton in St. Paul's Cathedral (1897-1902).
