A VERY FINE MOGHUL-STYLE PALE CELADON JADE FLATTENED VASE AND COVER
18th century
Carved suspending two loose rings at the shoulder below lotus-heads and above leafy fronds extending down the edges of the body decorated on each face with deities playing wind instruments, supported on a spreading foot embellished with petal lappets, the cover surmounted by a lotus-head finial, the translucent and exceptionally thinly carved 'icy-white' stone of even tone, minute extremity chips
