Lot Essay

It is unusual to find old jadeite carvings of large size, since inclusions of good colour were almost always cut out to use in jewellery. Another 'old' jadeite carving, a jadeite small mountain group from a European Private collection, was sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 1 April 1992, lot 1300.
