Sat on a tree-stump, resting his right foot on a spade and holding a lump of gold in his left hand, inscribed J. Broad, losses and damages

Lot Essay

As with the previous lot, the present figure of a gold-digger was probably produced at the Doulton Lambeth works by Broad as an outside commission, hence no Doulton stamp and no mention of the work in the model books.
