The gilt case with hinged escapement viewing portal beneath the foliate cast handle surmounting a palmette and frond cast moulded top, oval rope-twist framed glasses to the sides, palmette and laurel wreath cast mount to the front and sides of the base on scrolling feet, gilt egg-and-dart bezel to the silver engine-turned Roman and Arabic dial with blued moon hands and steel alarm hand, signed Breguet above the calendar viewing aperture with white enamel calendar ring revolving around the inside of the chapter disc and with adjustment aperture above VI, three-position sonnerie selection lever above XII, the movement with large going barrel, blued helical spring to plain steel three-armed balance of the gilt lever platform, grande sonnerie strike on two bells beneath the movement itself, the backplate mounted with a melée of polished steel racks and levers for the strike work and numbered 1208 at the base of the backplate
