The case with D-eneded glazed viewing portals to the sides, the moulded base on turned gilt-brass toupie feet, spring catch to the hinged base inset with a bell, the brass Roman and Arabic dial with central alarm disc, foliate engraved spandrels and later blued steel hands, the movement signed on the gilt top-plate Joh: Gottl: Freudenburg. Breslau, foliate pierced and engraved footed balance cock to the verge escapement with chain fusee, foliate engraved going barrel for the strike with trip repeat on side of case, the alarm operating from a smaller subsidiary going barrel
