Barraud's, No. 482, circa 1815
The silvered dial signed and numbered Barraud's Cornhill. LONDON. 482, Roman hour numerals, gold hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand, "aperture" up-and-down dial, main-frame assembly with pinned plates carrying reversed fusee, barrel and centre wheel, sub-frame assembly with pinned plates and chain guard, carrying remainder of train and Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with segmental heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance spring, form of spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, the outer end mounted on a brass sector secured to the underside of the sub-frame top-plate by a screw and two steady pins, on the edge of this plate a screw for adjusting the detent depthing, brass bowl, gimballed in plain three-tier mahogany box
