Berthoud, Arabic hour numerals, hollow lance format blued steel hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand (at VI), gilt movement signed on the top-plate Louis Berthoud A PARIS N.2521, fusee and chain, Earnshaw escapement, solid rim three-armed brass balance mounted on the back of the pillar-plate and concealed by the dial, the index arm set in the pillar-plate with engraved index scale incised thereon, flat spiral blued steel balance spring, mounted above the escape wheel the spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, gold case numbered 109
