The white enamel dial signed Ls. Berthoud, Arabic hour numerals, hollow lance format blued steel hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand (at VI), gilt movement signed on the top-plate Louis Berthoud A PARIS N.2521, fusee and chain, Earnshaw escapement, solid rim three-armed brass balance mounted on the back of the pillar-plate and concealed by the dial, the index arm set in the pillar-plate with engraved index scale incised thereon, flat spiral blued steel balance spring, mounted above the escape wheel the spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, gold case numbered 109
