The silvered dial signed and numbered BARRAUD, 41 Cornhill, LONDON No. 2870 MAKER TO THE ROYAL NAVY, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds (at XII) and up-and-down dial (at VI), blued steel hands, Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance, segmental heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance, dovetail detent with jewelled locking stone, brass bowl numbered 2870 and gimballing, in plain three-tier mahogany box, bone disc to front of centre section inscribed BARRAUD 2870, external brass drop handles
