The frosted gilt chain fusee movement with chased and engraved pierced cock and foot to the edge of the top-plate, diamond endstone, square baluster pillars and verge escapement, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute divisions, painted scene to the centre, finely chased, pierced and engraved gold hands, the gold case with inset painted enamel bowl depicting Venus assisting her son Aeneas on his journey by indicating the route to Carthage, inspired by Homer's Aeneid, the bezel and rim designed in the Louis XV picturesque manner with a floral garland and serpentined ribbon scrolls, enriched with Venus's scallop shell badge, the interior with simple floral design on plain white background, movement signed and numbered
