Katana signed Echigo no kami Kanesada, 16th Century, mounts 19th Century
Katana blade honzukuri, iorimune with chu gissaki, strong koshi-zori, forging pattern tight itame, tempered edge mixture of midare with ashi in between in ko-nie, kaeri boshi, tang ubu, 54.7cm.; wakizashi blade honzukuri, iorimune with chugissaki, very slight curve, forging pattern very tight itame, tempered edge small notare with inazuma and kinsuji in nie, kaeri boshi, tang o-suriage, 47cm.; encased in black and gold scabbard saya with plain shibuichi mounts, the tsuka black wrapped with mokko Namban iron tsuba, menuki of cockerels, the wakizashi with shibuichi kozuka with signature Masamori and kao, with wood sword rack decorated in aogai with three sages in a pine field looking at a boat, sword bags decorated with dragon (3)
