The blade honzukuri, iorimune with medium point [chu-gissaki] with strong koshi-zori, forging pattern mokume mixed with ko-itame with ji-nie and some chikei, tempered edge irregular suguba in nioi, some black staining to the blade and shingane, ko-maru boshi, (some tateware in the hamon), tang o-suriage with two holes, Mino school, 68.8cm.; encased in its black lacquered saya, tsuka dark blue wrapped, shakudo ishime fuchi-kashira decorated with horses in takazogan, menuki in the form of furled pennant and a tsuba with signature Kaneie
