With inscription Kaneuji, 16th/17th Century Honzukuri, iorimune, with large point o-gissaki, with slight curve of torii-zori, forging pattern indistinguishable, hamon shallow midare of ko-nie with maru-boshi, (with slight shallow chipping throughout the length of the blade), tang o-suriage with fine quality gold inscription Kaneuji, 43.9cm.

The hamon being very deep and flamboyant at the hamachi leads one to believe that this maybe part of a full-length katana converted to a wakizashi.
