Two signed, 19th Century
The first of shakudo nanako decorated with a gilt sixteen-petal kiku mon, Kaga, signed Haruhiro and Kao; lacquered metal decorated with a hawk perched on a roost in gold and iroe hiramakie and takamakie, the reverse with feathers on gold ground, (slight scratches), signed Jyo..; a copper kozuka in the form of an European knife, both ends with dragon and karashishi, details in gilt; and a shibuichi kozuka decorated with Shoki in iroe takazogan, the reverse with oni in katakiribori and copper hirazogan, signed Zenjyo koku (unrecorded) (4)

Lot Essay

The artist of the first kozuka is a student of Hirata Harunari, and was a metalworker to the Maeda family in Kaga.
