Lot Essay

Cf. Morphy, 1981, pp. 84, 84, nos. S32 and S33 for similarly shaped shields from the Darling River area of New South Wales, which have been dated to the middle of the last century. Similar clubs are illustrated on p.91 (nos. S57, S58 and S59) which are dated to the beginning of the last century.
