THE SPANISH FORGER. A courtier and two peasant girls. VERY LARGE MINIATURE ON VELLUM

230 x 160mm. A courtier meeting two peasant girls, one leading a mule. He is fondling the breasts of the other. Behind them a mill and a stream, the miller carrying a bag of grain. In a landscape with a castle and rocky hills and a golden sky. Within a red and blue border with white penwork decoration. Framed and glazed.

W.Voelkle in his book The Spanish Forger (N.Y. 1978) does not show any scene resembling the above and the miniature may in fact be by a related forger.
