4 works in one volume. Chancery half-sheet 4° (213 x 148mm). Contemporary Westphalian binding of calf over wooden boards, blindstamped with small tools of an eagle, rampant lion, fleur-de-lis, bird, crowned M, and maria and ihesus (not in Kyriss or Schunke Schwenke-Sammlung, remains of 2 brass fore-edge clasps, vellum front flyleaf with contemporary contents list, leather index tabs (rebacked in calf, endpapers renewed); large lozenge at centre of both covers particularly well preserved, presumably by a protective covering. Provenance: contemporary MS contents leaf; Ch-Ant. de La Serna Santander (no. 17 in his catalogue, sale Brussels, 7 November 1959).

A contemporary Sammelband containing 4 works printed by Ulrich Zel, first printer at Cologne. FIRST EDITION of the devotional Alphabetum divini amoris, and SECOND EDITIONS of the remaing three tracts. The third work in the volume is a landmark in Zel's early production. It is dated, and therefore serves as a marker for dating other works, and its shows aesthetic considerations, rather than economic efficiency, in its printing. It has 27-28 lines per page, rather than Zel's previous 30-34 lines per page, and the first five leaves have been leaded, thereby heightening the effect of spaciousness.
