2 works in one volume (189 x 110mm). (A few leaves slightly spotted or soiled.) Contemporary red morocco, covers with gilt bead border, spine gilt (slightly scuffed, neatly recased).

FIRST EDITIONS. The first is one of two works by the author published during his life-time anonymously (the other was The Tales of Belkin). This work appeared before 10 May 1827 in an edition of possibly 1,200 copies; however during his life-time it was considered a great rarity.
