Oblong 8° (157 x 202mm). Ornamental title, 309pp + 12pp index (lacking 3 leaves, pp 279-86), with original pagination. Contemporary reversed calf (rebacked). Provenance: Joseph Greene, rector of Welford in Gloucester, gift to his brother Richard Greene in 1777; given by T.W.Greene to Will Birch in 1796; Wm.Hamper 1826; Ch.Bennett 1898; Herbert Thompson 1900.

According to an inserted note by Frank Kidson dated 1901, many of the tunes appear to be copied from John Playford's Dancing Master 13th and 14th edition 1707-9 and Collection of original Scotch Tunes, also from Thomas D'Urfey Pills to purge Melancholy.
