etching, circa 1647-52, fourth state (of twelve), a very good impression of this rare, early state, watermark Phoenix within a double-encircled floral border (Churchill 499, dated 1631), trimmed on the borderline on three sides, and approximately 2mm. below the borderline at the bottom, a 4mm. tear at the lower sheet edge, some discolouration at the lower sheet edge, otherwise generally in good condition
