etchings, circa 1749-61, the set of sixteen, the states as issued in the Second Edition, Third Issue, mid 1760s to early 1770s, with Roman numerals but before the second round of re-work (except R. 44 which did not undergo any later re-work), published by the artist, Rome, uniformly very fine, strong and atmospheric impressions, with excellent contrasts, R. 34 with ink-dabbing, characteristic of the earliest issues of the Second Edition, most plates with watermark double-encircled Fleur-de-Lys (Robison wmk. 36), with margins, the usual central folds, R. 31 with a fine uninked printer's crease at the left edge, R. 35 with a tiny thin spot in the lower margin, R. 39 with traces of ink in the right margin, R. 44 with one or two tiny, thin rubbed spots in the distant villa at the right edge, occasional minor defects, generally in remarkably fine and fresh condition
