Further details
'Scottish Union', a bay colt foaled in 1935, owned by Mr James Voase Rank, was by 'Cameronium' out of 'Trustful'. This was the best Flat racer that Mr Rank owned; he was the winner of the 1938 St Leger, and finished second in both the 2,000 Guineas and the Derby. He also won the Middle Park as a two year old, the St James' Palace at Royal Ascot at the age of three, and the Coronation Cup at four, as well as being third in the Ascot Gold Cup. At stud he was quite a successful stallion, without breeding anything as good as himself.
