An apulian spouted oinochoe, attributed to Asteas
Second half of 4th Century B.C.
The lower part of the vessel with ivy wreath, the flowers with added white, the upper part of vessel with ovolo band above scene: a naked satyr with left foot raised and resting on a mound leans forward holding out ornament to Dionysos who stands partially naked, lower half draped, with foliate wreath in right hand, both figures hold thyrsoi in left hand and wear wreaths and ornament in added white, an altar to each side of the figures, palmette volutes to each side of the handle, (intact, hairline crack on neck under handle)
