An Apulian fish plate
Mid-last quarter of 4th Century B.C.
The underside of plate reserved save for moulded outside of foot, band in the middle of the stem and broad band on underneath of dish, around the down-turned rim a black wave pattern on reserve, the central depression decorated with a rosette with white centre and white dots, on the flat upper surface of the plate are shown a squid and two fish in reserve, the details of the fish in added white and dilute glaze, (repaired from a few fragments)
