Cf. A tomb group in the British Museum (W.A. 160212-221) includes a similar terracotta anthropoid sarcophagus from Lachish. During the Late New Kingdom Lachish became an important Egyptian administrative centre with Egyptians in the garrison. Also cf. C. J. Du Ry, Art of the Ancient Near and Middle East, New York, 1969, p. 227 for a complete sarcophagus from Beth Shan, Palestine.
