The underside with six lines of hieroglyphic inscription from Spell XXXB of the Book of the Dead, 1 7/8in. (4.6cm.) long; another dark stone naturalistic scarab, Ptolemaic, 4th-1st Century B.C., 2cm. long; a cornelian scarab, New Kingdom, Dynasty XVIII, circa 1400 B.C., 1.5cm. long; a steatite scarab, rev. two falcons with flails, with bull's head above and crocodile below, Dynasty XIX, circa 1300-1200 B.C., ¾in. (1.9cm.) long; and a lapis-lazuli scarab, Late Period (712-332 B.C.) (5)
