A New Kingdom core-formed glass vessel fragment
Dynasty XVIII (1550-1070 B.C.)
With marvered opaque yellow and white feathering on a blue background, with an opaque white rim trail; a Roman painted clear glass fragment with a red fish head and an arm with blue rippling water; a gold 'sandwich' glass tondo fragment with part of three letters and a decorative border, 4th Century A.D., all 1in. (3cm.) long max.; a gold foil and glass oval 'cameo', the bright blue background with a sheet gold standing draped figure fixed beneath a layer of colourless glass, 2in. (5.1cm.) long; a small circular pendant; a green glass gaming counter with opaque red and white 'heart' motif; five other gaming counters, mosaic glass, of domed form, including one pierced green disc, Roman/Islamic period; an opaque red glass squatting monkey, with green weathering, 2¾in. (6.8cm.) high; and an opaque red, white and yellow tyet-girdle inlay (in two pieces), 2 5/8in. (6.5cm.) high overall, both with some restoration, various periods (13)
