Two Roman amber glass flasks
3rd-4th Century A.D.
With elongated piriform bodies, short cylindrical necks and wide flaring mouths, 5¾in. (14.7cm.); a translucent glass jar, the squat body with wide conical mouth and flanged folded rim, some iridescence, circa 4th Century A.D., 3 3/8in. (8.4cm.) high; another, with tapering body on ring foot, with trail below the everted rim, 3rd Century A.D., 2¾in. (7cm.) high; a clear thick glass beaker or lamp, wide-mouthed with slightly everted cut-off rim, the tapering body decorated with encircling wheel-cut grooves, slight iridescence, small chip to rim, 4th-5th Century A.D., 4 5/8in. (11.6cm.) high; and five translucent glass unguentaria with conical or bulbous bodies, tall cylindrical necks and inward-folded rims, 1st-2nd Century A.D., 5in. (12.7cm.) to 3½in. (8.8cm.) high
