A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED CORNE-VERTE BRACKET CLOCK circa 1733
The circular part-enamelled dial, with Roman and Arabic chapters inscribed CHARLES*VOISIN* APARIS*, behind a glazed door with a couple of playing youths with birds and flanked by a strapwork and acanthus spray, the case with brass banding and to the top with an acanthus-spray flanked by a flowerhead-filled guilloche-band and acanthus scrolls, surmounted by a rectangular domed top with C-scroll and acanthus angles and a waisted plinth with a flowerhead-filled guilloche-band, the finial with Ganimede before Zeus disguised as an eagle, the movement inscribed to the reverse Charles Voisin AParis and the movement inscribed 1733, on scrolling foliate feet and above a waisted rectangular bracket with stop-fluted band, the angles with espagnolettes-masks, above acanthus trails flanking a palmette motif with C-scroll and cabochon finial, restorations and the mounts re-gilt
