Each with cartouche-shaped channelled padded back, scrolled arms and serpentine seat covered with Beauvais tapestry depicting gardening children and animal scenes within ribbon-tied laurel-wreaths and hung with floral garlands, the toprail headed by a floral and foliate spray, the shaped and channelled apron centred by a floral and foliate ornament, on cabriole legs headed by a flowerhead terminating on scrolled feet, five stamped G. BOUCAULD, one stamp indistinct, and three stamped JME, two legs spliced and restored, differences in carving, five feet re-tipped, one upright spliced (6)

Guillaume Boucauld, maître in 1766

A closely related suite of six fauteuils, stamped by Boucault, covered with related Aubusson tapestry covers, were supplied to duc de Choiseul for the château de Chanteloup, and are now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tours.
