A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND IVORY-INLAID TULIPWOOD, AMARANTH, KINGWOOD AND END-CUT MARQUETRY SECRETAIRE A ABATTANT
The later moulded serpentine-fronted rectangular brêche d'alep marble top above an arc-en-arbalette fallfront inlaid with foliate sprays within a stylised C-scroll border and enclosing a mahogany and bois satiné-lined fitted interior with three pigeon-holes, six drawers above three wells and a green leather-lined writing-surface, above two doors similarly inlaid and enclosing two further drawers and a coffre-fort, locked, the shaped angles mounted with rockwork C-scrolls and acanthus, the panelled bombé sides with a further foliate sprig, above a waved apron with foliate C-scroll mounts and cabriole legs on scrolled sabots, with chalk inscription 164 & Stvaix
