This pistol dates from circa 1905. Very early production is also indicated by the forward serrations on the slide. The 'Model 1902' military pistol was a major improvement on the 'Model 1900' and 'Model 1902' Sporting pistols and of all the large size automatic pistols which preceded the .45 calibre 'Model 1911' it was the best selling
