Converted from a double rifle calibre, Jones patent rotary-underlever, rebounding backlocks with bolted dolphin hammers, percussion fences, best foliate-scroll engraving with traces of hardening-colour, well-figured stock with pistolgrip, engraved and colour-hardened pistolgrip-cap (with trap), cheekpiece and engraved heel-and toe-plates, lever-latch forend, sling-eyes, the browned damascus barrels with matt sight-rib and open-sights

The gun was completed in 1882 as an exact copy of No. 5191 for C. Gordon. The latter reference can only mean Charles Gordon, the famous collector, who patronized the Scottish makers with large orders for unusual and exotic firearms
