Lot Essay

The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in 1873 with 'snap actions'. The barrel length is original, a point of some interest, originating as they were in an age dominated by 30in. and 29in. barrels. A quantity of some several hundred 14-bore cartridges will be made conditionally available to the buyer of the lot
