The subjects date to Parry's first voyage of 1819-20 in search of a Northwest Passage, 'Mr Beechey' presumably referring to Frederick William Beechey, a Lieutenant on Parry's Hecla on the voyage and veteran of Franklin's first Arctic expedition of 1818.
