Lot Essay

Although cut salts of Irish origin with similarly moulded feet dating from 1790-1800 are known, coloured drinking vessels of this date would appear to be unrecorded. For two blue finger-bowls from the Dublin glasshouse of Armstrong Ormond Quay, see Anon. sale Sotheby's, 1 November 1982, lot 88 and 10 February 1986, lot 142.
