A Castel Durante waisted cylindrical albarello
Circa 1550
Named in blue for SEMENTE· on a scrolling ribbon, with martial trophies on a blue band divided by yellow and ochre bands and a portrait bust of a bearded man within an a robbiana cartouche flanked by lions' mask grottesche and scrolling foliage above and four cartouches of birds flanked by blue foliage on an umber ground below, the sloping shoulder and foot with bands of tied laurel and fruit (three cracks to top rim, slight crack to lower part of body, chips to rims, glaze flaking to raised bands)
